Kitsugi-There is a ancient Japanese tradition of repairing broken pottery with golden resin, this process is done with awe and reverence in which the ugly breaks are transformed into beautiful fixes.
Dear One: You have abandoned your hurt self for far too long, it is time to turn toward your flawed, rejected, suffering and beautiful self. No one knows about your secrets, shame, anxiety, fears, sadness, despair, anger, etc...You are frightened, you feel there is something wrong with you (you may have felt this for a long time). You have masked it well, there are so many ways you have covered it up and yet, nothing absolutely nothing helped that wounded, injured, shamed self inside of you. You fear rejection, perhaps you even expect it. You are filled with anxiety and shame for being who you are and you do not feel worthy of kindness, love and compassion. Have you heard of Kinsugi? It is a Japanese tradition of reverently fixing broken pottery with golden joinery, "turning ugly breaks into beautiful fixes". Your scarred well armored, fragile, trickster self longs for a safe place for restoration. We will do it together, I will teach you how to turn your ugly scars into beautiful fixes. In Japan the repaired vessel is often seen as more beautiful then the original one. The same could happen for you.
"you have helped me immensely to recover from the loss of my relationship, from my active addiction issues, to adjust to my new relationship, with innumerable crises and difficulties which have come my way since those first counseling sessions. During that time I have acquired a considerable compendium of skills and abilities to cope with the deficiencies in my own character and to respond effectively to various encounters I experienced with other challenging individuals. So, at this point, I can only say that there is no way I can ever thank you enough for all that you have done to so skillfully to assist me. Your suggestions, explanations, comments, and advice will remain always with me. (I have kept every page of notes that I ever wrote in your office as well as all of your handouts.) I believe I am quite a different person than I was in August, and I have you to thank for that immense gift."
As stated previously, my goal is to provide you "a safe place", where you will be treated with compassion and respect. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. You cannot change your past but you do have control how you live in your present. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I will help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating.

A lamp for those needing light,
A place of rest for those who desire one,
And a servant for those needing service"
